  • Can this do this?

Im creating an animatronic that is a character that sings songs. He has 3 to 6 servos. Can I record 5 to 10 songs on the board and then have it operate as a stand alone unit? Right now Im using VSA to run my "shows" but want to have them self contained. If this system can do this, which board do I have to put in each unit?

Right now the Sound Add On Module only supports one background sound and one narration sound. We are looking into adding support for more sounds, but we do not know when this feature will be available.

How many narration tracks do you have?

Just the song. I would record the jaw and eye movements in synch with the 1 ONE track of music. I'm wondering if the board can store that size file and control everything without being connected to a computer or the remote. I guess I'm just really bad at describing what I want. How about a skull with eyes and jaw. I want to be able to record the movements in synch with song so it looks like he is singing. After its all programed I want to be able to have it work on its own. Maybe a simple push button to start it. The problem I run into with other systems is the song has to be played from a computer. I want to be able to set it all up and sell it as a prop that someone just has to plug into power and switch it on and it will perform. I have 5 to 10 songs that i would put on. It could just cycle through them in order.

OK. I think I understand what you are going for.

All of the movements that you make using the Controller are recorded and stored on an SD Card on the Receiver Recorder. You do not need the Controller powered on to play back the recorded sequences. There is enough space on the included SD card to have almost 2 days of recorded movement.

As for the Sound Add On Module, we include a 128MB card with the board. If you need more space for your sound and narration MP3s you can use a larger format card.

Again, you can only have 1 narration and 1 background MP3 at one time. You will need to manually change the files out using a computer if you want to change MP3 files.

Our Sound Add On Module will move a servo to the narration audio MP3 file on the fly so you do not need to manually record the jaw movement. The narration MP3 file is analyzed and the jaw is moved based on the frequency and volume of the audio.
